Custom Commissions
Art + Words, woven just for you.
Because what matters deserves more than a snapshot.
The quick version? I turn your scroll-by snaps into stop-and-stare pieces.
The short version? I turn your “this means a lot” into something that lasts.
Because “what matters” deserves better than sitting on your camera roll.
So, what does that actually look like? Here are a few of the ways I turn your “this means a lot” into art.
People & Pets — portraits with a TTL twist (line, color, and a little poetry if you want it).
Places — homes, wedding venues, cities, landscapes – anchored in memory.
Moments — anniversaries, milestones, small everyday wonders captured and reimagined.
Not seeing your idea here? Tell me — If it matters to you, I want to hear it.
That’s where custom commissions come in. A custom piece at The Tethered Line means your walls (or gifts) carry story, soul, and maybe a little sass.
Here’s what it looks like when your snapshots get The Tethered Line (TTL) glow-up.
Your camera roll's got the ‘before' - I make the ‘after.’
Everyday moments → turned into art for your walls.

A few notes for best outcomes
My work thrives when capturing a single subject or pairs in simple, soulful ways. Think portraits that lean into essence, not exact likeness.
For multiple figures, I recommend side, back, or storytelling perspectives — they allow me to create work that feels authentic and expressive, without stiff posed faces.
If you’re looking for a larger group portrait, let’s chat — I’ll help you imagine the best format for capturing your story beautifully.
"I gave a TTL house portrait as a closing gift — my clients teared up on the spot. It’s personal, lasting, and so much better than another fruit basket."
"I sent her a snapshot of my dog, and what I got back feels like a masterpiece. It’s him — but elevated, soulful, and full of heart. I’ll treasure it forever."
"She turned a quick phone snap of my friends and me into art that now hangs in my living room. Every time I see it, I’m reminded of that night. That’s magic."
From heartfelt keepsakes to signature statements, here’s how your portrait can take shape;

Each commission includes one round of light revisions (small tweaks like color balance or text adjustments). Because my work is hand-crafted and interpretive, I don’t offer full redraws — but I’ll always make sure the final piece feels aligned with what you envisioned. If you’d like extra revisions beyond the included round, we can add them for a small fee.
Yes! I specialize in smaller, soulful captures. For larger groups, I recommend expressive or storytelling perspectives (like side or back views) rather than exact front-facing detail. This keeps the focus on connection and feeling, which is where the art really shines.
Typical timelines are listed above by tier. If you have a date circled on the calendar, tell me—I’ll be honest about what’s possible. Rush fees vary by scope.
A 50% deposit secures your spot; the balance is due at final delivery. I’ll send a clear quote before we begin—no surprises, just good art.
Great question! Once final payment is provided and I provide your final product, I delete your image(s) from my files. You never have to worry about your photos. I value your privacy as much as my own.
Yes, I love surprises! I can ship a framed piece directly to your recipient, with a handwritten note, message provided by you (if you choose). You’ll preview the message before it goes out.
